ACU Softball Team Concludes Season in WAC Tournament

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The ACU softball team’s promising season ended in disappointment with an 8-0 loss to Utah Valley in the WAC Tournament’s single-elimination round. Despite finishing the 2025 campaign with a 15-38 overall record, the Wildcats achieved a commendable 11-13 mark, tying for fourth place in the WAC, exceeding preseason expectations where they were predicted to finish eighth.

First-year head coach Jo Koons reflected on the season, stating, "This was obviously not the result we hoped for, but there is much to be proud of." The team demonstrated resilience, often responding with determination following setbacks. Though they faced challenges in their tournament game—hitting into three inning-ending double plays and failing to capitalize on a loaded fourth inning—the experience has laid a solid foundation for future seasons.

The game marked the final appearance for eight seniors, including standout Taylor Bachmeyer, who finished with her 12th double of the season, tying her for fourth in ACU’s Division I singles records. Coach Koons emphasized their contributions toward building a positive culture in the ACU softball program, hoping for a bright future ahead.
