Utah Hockey Club goaltender Connor Ingram recently entered the player assistance program of the NHL and NHLPA due to the passing of his mother to breast cancer. Fans rallied together to show their support for Ingram during this difficult time. Ingram released a statement explaining his absence and decision to prioritize his health. Utah Hockey Club fan Jackie Johnson organized “Letters to Ingy” to gather messages of support for the goaltender, receiving an overwhelming response from fans worldwide. Johnson, who has struggled with her own mental health, was inspired by Ingram’s openness about his struggles and bravery in seeking help. The initiative also serves as a way to thank Ingram for his example and encourage others to open up about their mental health.
