Alex Jensen Set to be Officially Introduced as Head Coach for Utah


The University of Utah will be introducing Alex Jensen as the new head coach of the Runnin’ Utes basketball team on Monday, March 17. The introductory press conference will be open to the public and will be held at 6:00 p.m. MT at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Jensen, a Utah Athletics Hall of Famer and former member of the 1998 Final Four team, brings 18 seasons of coaching experience to the program, including 12 years as an NBA assistant. He also has head coaching experience in the NBA G-League and previously served under Runnin’ Utes legend Rick Majerus. Jensen, a Centerville native, was named Utah’s Mr. Basketball in 1994 and led Viewmont High School to a state championship. During his time at Utah as a player, he was part of four conference championship teams and made four trips to the NCAA tournament. Jensen’s return to Utah as head coach has been met with excitement from the fanbase, who have long desired him for the position. The University of Utah is confident that Jensen is the right man to lead the program into the future. The press conference will mark a significant moment in the program’s history as they look towards a new era of success under Jensen’s leadership.
