Prosecutors are presenting evidence that Colorado dentist James Craig, charged with killing his wife, allegedly tried to get a fellow inmate to kill a detective investigating him. Craig is accused of poisoning his wife’s protein shakes nearly two years ago with potassium cyanide, after arsenic failed to kill her. New charges of solicitation to commit murder and solicitation to commit perjury were filed against him last year. Prosecutors are set to present more details during a hearing in order to further convince a judge that Craig should face these additional charges. Craig’s trial has been delayed and he has pleaded not guilty to the charges of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. His wife, Angela Craig, died in March 2023 from poisoning by cyanide and tetrahydrozoline, a substance found in over-the-counter eye drops. The couple had been married for 23 years and had six children together. Craig’s defense lawyers have not yet commented on the additional charges.
