Louisiana woman Danette Colbert, linked to the death of Super Bowl reporter Adan Manzano, is facing a series of allegations from other men accusing her of drugging and robbing them. Colbert was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution to victim David Butler in October for a previous scheme. However, Louisiana’s Attorney General Liz Murrill says Colbert shouldn’t have been on probation due to her status as a habitual offender. Colbert’s attorney did not comment on the situation.
Colbert has a criminal history including similar fraud and theft cases in nearby jurisdictions, as well as charges in Nevada that were dismissed after victims didn’t want to testify. Alleged victims have also accused Colbert of posing as an Uber driver in the French Quarter to target them. In the case of Adan Manzano’s death, Colbert has been charged with several crimes including simple robbery and bank fraud. Manzano was found dead in a hotel room with drugs in his system, and drugs were found at Colbert’s home. Authorities in Kenner have received multiple complaints from potential victims of Colbert, including the death of a Maryland man in a hotel room. Investigations into these cases are ongoing, and Colbert could face additional charges pending autopsy and toxicology testing results.
