Broncos Select Tight End Caleb Lohner in 2025 NFL Draft

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos have fortified their roster by selecting tight end Caleb Lohner with the 241st pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-7, 250-pound Lohner, who began his football career just last year, made an impressive debut by catching four touchdown passes and contributing a two-point conversion in his inaugural season. His first career game featured a notable 20-yard touchdown reception.

"I couldn’t have been happier," Lohner expressed after the draft. "I just wanted an opportunity, and I genuinely believe that wherever I am — now being part of the Broncos organization — I’m going to do everything I can to help win." Though he acknowledges his limited experience in football, Lohner is driven by his newfound passion for the game. “It’s something you dream about in sports,” he added, reflecting on his excitement.

Before transitioning to football, Lohner showcased his athletic abilities on the basketball court, playing at BYU from 2020 to 2022 and at Baylor from 2022 to 2023. His path to becoming a tight end began at the University of Utah, where encouragement from the coaching staff led him to embrace football fully. "Taking the time to watch some film and visit there was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made," Lohner remarked, expressing gratitude towards Utah’s football program and coaching staff.

Lohner joins a competitive tight end roster for the Broncos that includes Nate Adkins, Evan Engram, Lucas Krull, Adam Trautman, and Thomas Yassmin. Earlier on draft day, the Broncos also selected outside linebacker Que Robinson and punter Jeremy Crawshaw, signaling a proactive approach to strengthening their lineup.
