Freshman Diver of the Meet Helps Utah Swim and Dive Secure First Big 12 Championship


The University of Utah swim and dive program wrapped up its debut conference season with success at the Big 12 Championships. The men’s team finished in third place overall, just behind NCAA champions Arizona State and University of Arizona, while the women claimed fifth place. Callie Eaglestone received Big 12 Freshman Diver of the Meet honors for her performance. The Utah women dominated the diving events, with three athletes earning spots in the tower finals and finishing at the top of the diving charts.

On the swimming side, four Utes made it to the top eight, with Norah Hay and Brandon Miller bringing home silver and fifth place medals respectively. The team also set several top 10 times in program history. Looking ahead, the Utah divers will compete at the NCAA Diving Zones to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Head coach Jonas Persson expressed gratitude for the team’s hard work and dedication throughout the season.
