Arden Louchheim Claims Victory at 119th Utah State Women’s Amateur
MIDWAY, Utah — In an impressive display of skill and determination, Nebraska’s Arden Louchheim seized the title at the 119th Utah State Women’s Amateur Championship on July 24, 2025. Competing at Wasatch Mountain Golf Course, Louchheim triumphed over Kate Walker with a commanding 7-and-6 win in the 36-hole final.
Louchheim, who has participated in the event just twice, is no stranger to the competitive world of junior golf. Coming from a lineage of successful golfers in Utah, she expressed her appreciation for the honor of joining the list of past champions. “Anyone who is a name in Utah golf has won this tournament … to get to add my name to that list just means the world,” she said.
Previously a ski racer in Park City, Louchheim graduated from Rowland Hall in Salt Lake City and currently plays for the University of Nebraska. She has a decorated history in Utah junior golf, including winning the Utah State Junior Amateur Championship in 2017.
Though Louchheim faced formidable competition, including defeating six-time champion Kelsey Chugg in the semifinals, she maintained her composure and consistency throughout the tournament. Walker reflected on her experience, stating that the week reaffirmed her belief in her abilities.
Louchheim’s win also highlights an intriguing dynamic in Utah golf, as she joins a roster of talented athletes who achieved success while representing out-of-state colleges. Looking ahead, she plans to utilize her exemption into the U.S. Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes and will return next summer to defend her title at the 120th Women’s State Am.
Louchheim continues to feel validated in her pursuits, stating, “It’s motivating to see my progress and how far I’ve come.”
