Karel Vejmelka Unveils Custom Equipment for Utah Mammoth Opening Night
As Karel Vejmelka prepares for the opening night of the Utah Mammoth at the Delta Center, he’s excited to showcase not just the team’s new jersey but also a highly personalized set of goalie equipment. Collaborating with Brian’s Custom Sports, a company renowned for its handmade goalie gear, Vejmelka has crafted pads and gloves that reflect the Mammoth’s vibrant colors and distinctive logo.
“For me, the Mammoth logo looks incredible,” said Vejmelka, who has worked with Brian’s for about six years. He initially donned stock graphic pads during the Mammoth’s inaugural season but this time has opted for a complete custom design. The new pads are predominantly white, adorned with a large depiction of the Mammoth logo, while the blocker and glove feature a matching aesthetic.
Brian’s Custom Sports, based in Kingsville, Ontario, prides itself on its craftsmanship, producing equipment in-house rather than overseas. This guarantees a high level of customization tailored to the individual needs of goalies like Vejmelka. The design process began in June when Vejmelka was presented with six potential options, which allowed for the creative freedom he values.
Brad Johnson from Brian’s emphasizes the importance of strong branding in hockey, particularly in today’s digital landscape where unique designs can garner significant attention. “What our goalies wear is essential to sell their team and brand,” he noted.
As Vejmelka prepares for the upcoming season, including a new mask featuring a Mammoth, he looks forward to breaking in his new gear. “I can’t wait to see how it all comes together,” he said. With Vejmelka’s strong performance last season securing him a five-year contract extension, he’s well-positioned to make a memorable impact in his new equipment.
