Spencer Fano Recognized as Top Offensive Player in Big 12 by Pro Football Focus
In a significant acknowledgment of his outstanding performance, Utah right tackle Spencer Fano has been named the best offensive player in the Big 12 by Pro Football Focus (PFF). This accolade comes as PFF unveiled its top offensive and defensive players from each conference ahead of the 2025 season.
Fano, a junior, is one of the select offensive linemen featured on PFF’s list alongside notable talents like Boise State’s Kage Casey and Florida’s Jake Slaughter. His 2024 season was remarkable, starting all 12 games and achieving the highest overall grade among FBS tackles at 93.0. Additionally, he recorded the nation’s top run-blocking grade at 93.6, showcasing his dominance on the field. The only player to surpass Fano in PFF’s “wins above average” metric for tackles was top-10 NFL draft pick Kelvin Banks Jr.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and hailing from Spanish Fork, Fano has piqued considerable interest from NFL scouts. PFF not only ranked him as the No. 1 tackle prospect for the upcoming 2026 draft but also named him the top returning offensive lineman in the nation.
Fano’s accolades extend beyond PFF, as he has received preseason All-America honors from the Walter Camp Foundation and has secured a spot on the preseason All-Big 12 team during media days in Dallas. With the spotlight firmly on him, Fano’s performance in the upcoming season is eagerly anticipated by both fans and professional analysts alike.
As the 2025 college football season approaches, all eyes will be on Fano to see if he can maintain his stellar play and help lead the Utah Utes to success.
