Utah Arts Festival Celebrates 49 Years of Creativity in Salt Lake City
The 49th annual Utah Arts Festival is underway at Library Square, drawing enthusiastic crowds while showcasing the talents of over 800 artists, dancers, and musicians from across the nation. Among them is local sculptor Garett Loveless, returning for his third year, displaying his acclaimed bronze statues. His featured work, "Self-Reflection," explores themes of perception and how others can often see aspects of ourselves that we overlook.
Festival-goers can also discover unique ceramics by first-time exhibitor Mandy Henebry from Boise, Idaho. After 35 years in ceramics, Henebry focuses on distinct color clay pots to stand out in an ancient art form. Similarly, artist Cory Ballis of Fresno, California, presents his vibrant blown glass dishware, inspired by satellite imagery, despite facing challenges from windy conditions.
With over 900 volunteers assisting, the festival also boasts a variety of food and beverage options, an interactive kids zone, live graffiti art, and film screenings. Tickets are available online, and children under 12 can attend for free. The festival runs daily until Sunday from noon to 11 p.m., making it a must-visit cultural event in Salt Lake City.
