Jess Anderson Retires After 25 Years of Service as Head of Utah’s Department of Public Safety

SALT LAKE CITY — Jess Anderson has announced his retirement as commissioner of Utah’s Department of Public Safety, a role he has held for seven years, after more than 25 years of service to the state. Under his leadership, the department achieved significant advancements in emergency response coordination, community safety initiatives, and legislative relations.

“It’s been the honor of a lifetime to serve as commissioner,” Anderson stated. He expressed pride in his team’s accomplishments and highlighted his commitment to “Keeping Utah Safe.” Anderson’s final day in office will be July 16.
