Utah Ski Team Celebrates Academic Excellence with Seven All-District Honors
Salt Lake City, UT – The Utah Ski Team has showcased a remarkable blend of athletic achievement and academic prowess, as announced by College Sports Communicators today. Seven standout members have been recognized as Academic All-District, contributing to the Utes’ triumph in the 2025 NCAA Ski Championship, marking the program’s 17th national title and fourth in five years.
Men’s team members Joe Davies, Zachary Jayne, Sindre Myklebust, and Simen Strand, along with women’s team athletes Celine Mayer, Kaja Norbye, and Claire Timmermann, were celebrated for their excellence in both sports and studies.
Joe Davies, a civil engineering major, distinguished himself in both college and World Cup competitions, achieving podium finishes in all six starts this season, culminating in a national title in the men’s 20K freestyle. Meanwhile, mechanical engineering major Zachary Jayne claimed All-American honors with impressive performances, including two individual race victories and a regional title.
Celine Mayer, a biology graduate, capped off her collegiate career as an All-American in the women’s 7.5K classic, contributing critical points during the NCAA Championships. Norbye, awarded Alpine MVP, excelled in her final season with multiple top-10 finishes and a master’s degree in finance.
With additional accolades including All-American status for Myklebust and Strand, and Timmermann’s triumph in the women’s giant slalom, the Utah Ski Team continues to shine academically and athletically.
