Vineyard Mayor Julie Fullmer Reflects on Leadership and Legacy

As Vineyard’s first female mayor, Julie Fullmer reflects on her years of service ahead of her final term, emphasizing the collective effort in building a community. "Legacy isn’t something one person leaves behind; it’s something we build together," she stated, celebrating the journey from open fields to thriving neighborhoods.

With Father’s Day approaching, Fullmer addresses her sons, imparting lessons on leadership through kindness and service. She highlights that true leadership involves humility, action, and a commitment to serving others. "You don’t have to win an election to change the world," she notes, encouraging all community members to participate actively in fostering a kinder, more inclusive society.

In gratitude for her community, Fullmer is launching “150 Days of Service,” a citywide initiative in partnership with One Kind Act a Day. Starting June 14, the program aims to honor those who have impacted Vineyard and promote acts of kindness.

As she prepares to step down, Fullmer emphasizes the importance of continued engagement: “Your voice and willingness to do good will shape Vineyard’s future.” Her tenure serves as a reminder that lasting change stems from collective action rooted in compassion and service.
