Dads and Kids Fire Up the Grill at Culinary Center of KC This Father’s Day
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — This Father’s Day, families in Overland Park took their grilling skills to new heights at the Culinary Center of Kansas City. Under the guidance of Pitmaster Bruce Campbell, renowned for his award-winning barbecue techniques, attendees embraced a fun and educational cooking experience.
Campbell, who has retired from competitive barbecue, generously shared his secret sauces and Kansas City-style rubs, celebrated for their perfect balance of sweetness and heat. Participants learned to create unique dishes, including grilled fruit kabobs, elevating their summer cookouts.
According to Campbell, the success of his classes is attributable to three essentials: “First, a good recipe from Mom or Dad, or from the Culinary Center. Second, high-quality ingredients, like those for the fruit kabobs. And lastly, following the recipe closely is key.”
