Dallen Bentley Poised for Bigger Role in Utah’s Offense
SALT LAKE CITY – As the 2025 college football season approaches, tight end Dallen Bentley is expected to step into a more significant role within Utah’s offense following two years of development. The Utes, known for their gritty and hard-nosed approach, find Bentley’s style to be a perfect fit.
Head coach Kyle Whittingham praised Bentley’s progress, stating, “Dallen played his best football this past spring. He’s a prototypical in-line tight end who can block effectively and catch passes. He is set to be a major part of our offense this fall.”
Bentley, a junior from Taylorsville, Utah, began his collegiate career at Snow College in 2022, where he made an immediate impact by recording 114 yards and two touchdowns in just eight games, ultimately earning second-team NJCAA All-America honors. As a highly sought-after four-star JUCO talent, he received offers from multiple programs but chose to remain close to home at Utah.
During his first season with the Utes in 2023, Bentley logged one reception for five yards. His usage increased in 2024, where he appeared in all 12 games with seven starts, contributing two receptions for 15 yards.
The anticipation surrounding Bentley’s performance continues to grow, particularly as fans look forward to the annual “60 in 60” watchlist, which highlights top college football players in Utah. Bentley did not make the list in previous years, but expectations are high for his contributions this season.
