Devyn Wiest Joins USA Volleyball’s U19 World Championship Roster
SALT LAKE CITY – Utah freshman Devyn Wiest has secured a coveted position on USA Volleyball’s Girls U19 World Championship team, set to compete in Croatia from July 2-13. Wiest was selected from a pool of 18 talented athletes during a rigorous training camp held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from June 1-7.
Head coach of Utah Volleyball, Beth Launiere, expressed her pride, stating, "This is an amazing opportunity for Devyn. Competing internationally against the best players in her age group will significantly enhance her skills. Devyn’s motivation to excel is commendable, and I am confident she will make the most of her experience with the USA U19 team, representing Utah Volleyball exceptionally."
Wiest is not the only Ute involved; associate head coach Alyssa D’Errico will join the squad as an assistant coach. This collaboration highlights the strong connection between the Utah program and the national team.
In preparation for the championship, Wiest and D’Errico will participate in additional training sessions in the Netherlands from June 26-30. Both are focused on defending their world championship title, which they successfully earned last year.
