Jazz Prepare for 2023 NBA Draft with High-Profile Workouts
The Utah Jazz have ramped up their pre-NBA draft evaluations, recently hosting University of Texas guard Tre Johnson for a workout. At just 19 years old, Johnson is anticipated to be a top-5 pick in the June 25 draft, potentially landing as high as No. 3.
The Jazz have been conducting a series of workouts with a mix of players, primarily focusing on those projected for the second round or undrafted. However, as the draft approaches, first-round prospects are increasingly participating. Notably, Michigan State freshman Jase Richardson, expected to be a late first-round pick, also took part in a recent workout.
Upcoming sessions will feature notable players such as Nique Clifford (Colorado State), Chaz Lanier (Tennessee), and Jeremiah Fears (Oklahoma), who is considered a top-10 candidate.
In addition to Johnson, the Jazz have evaluated various other prospects, including Hansen Yang (Qingdao), RJ Davis (North Carolina), and Deivon Smith (St. John’s), as they prepare for a critical draft that could reshape their roster. With several high-profile workouts scheduled for next week, the team is positioning itself for a strategic selection.
