Utah State Track Stars Prepare for NCAA Championships in Eugene

LOGAN, Utah – Junior Logan Hammer and sophomore Shelby Jensen are set to represent Utah State University at the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, from June 11-14. The championships will unfold at Hayward Field, with events broadcasted across various ESPN networks.

Director of Track and Field, Artie Gulden, expressed excitement over the duo’s participation, highlighting their experience in high-pressure meets as a key asset. "We want them to focus on each step of the week, remaining present," he stated, emphasizing the importance of competitive toughness.

Logan Hammer is having a remarkable season, primarily in pole vault. This year, he not only set the Utah State indoor pole vault record with a height of 5.61 meters but also shattered multiple outdoor records, including the Mountain West record at 5.70 meters. Hammer’s achievements have placed him among the top NCAA pole vaulters, with the second-best outdoor mark nationally this season and ranking eighth among American athletes.

On the women’s side, Shelby Jensen is enjoying a breakout sophomore year. She broke the Utah State record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:48.44 at the Mountain West Championships. Her stellar performance continued as she secured her national berth with a blistering finish at the NCAA West First Rounds, marking her as the first Aggie female to reach nationals in four years.

This marks the first time since 2019 that both men’s and women’s programs at Utah State will compete at the national level. As they prepare for this prestigious event, fans can follow their journey on social media and rally behind them as they aim for national recognition.
