Utah State Athletics Achieves Historic Academic Success
LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Athletics program has showcased an extraordinary commitment to academics during the spring 2025 semester, achieving a remarkable cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.51 and a term GPA of 3.57 among its 360 student-athletes. This milestone marks the highest GPAs in the department’s history and underscores a consistent commitment to academic excellence, with 46 consecutive terms of combined GPAs above 3.0 since fall 2002.
Diana Sabau, Vice President and Director of Athletics, praised the student-athletes for their dedication, stating, “Our student-athletes continue to demonstrate their commitment to academics, setting multiple department highs in the spring semester.” Notably, 90% of student-athletes achieved a term GPA of 3.0 or higher, and 86% reached the same threshold in cumulative GPA, surpassing the previous fall’s figures.
Women’s teams excelled with a 3.71 term GPA, while men’s programs recorded a 3.44 GPA, both reaching new program highs. The cumulative GPAs were also noteworthy, with women attaining 3.68 and men scoring 3.34. Furthermore, for the second consecutive semester, all varsity programs recorded GPAs of 3.0 or higher.
A total of 86 student-athletes earned a spot on the Utah State University Dean’s List, a notable increase from the previous semester. This academic achievement exemplifies Utah State’s dedication to nurturing both athletic and academic prowess.
