Temporary Street Closures Planned for Utah Pride Week in Salt Lake City
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Salt Lake City will implement several temporary road closures from June 7 to June 8 in celebration of Utah Pride Week. The annual Pride Festival, hosted around Washington Square, runs from Saturday at 11 a.m. to Sunday at 7 p.m.
Key streets affected include 200 East, which is currently closed between 400 South and 500 South for event set-up. The Salt Lake City Police Department urges drivers to exercise caution while navigating the downtown area, anticipating a surge of festival-goers.
The highlight of the weekend will be the Pride Parade, commencing Sunday at 10 a.m. from 100 South West Temple. It will proceed along 400 East and conclude at 300 South 400 East.
Local law enforcement is emphasizing their commitment to addressing hate crimes, urging survivors and witnesses to report incidents promptly. For ongoing threats, individuals should call 9-1-1.
