Utah Football Extends Offer to Promising 4-Star Tight End Recruit from South Dakota

Utah Football Progresses in Upcoming Recruiting Classes

The Utah football program, under the guidance of head coach Kyle Whittingham, has made significant strides with key recruits in the 2026 and 2027 classes. The last weekend of May marked the beginning of a crucial recruiting period, with the Utes set to welcome numerous high-profile prospects for visits up until the end of June.

A highlight of Utah’s recruiting efforts came when they extended a scholarship offer to four-star tight end Cooper Terwilliger from South Dakota. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 210 pounds, Terwilliger is highly regarded as one of the top tight ends in the 2027 class. His impressive performances during his sophomore season at T.F. Riggs High School have solidified his reputation, earning him a four-star rating from 247Sports Composite and placing him as the No. 10 tight end nationally.

Terwilliger’s offer list has expanded notably over the past year, now featuring powerhouse programs such as Alabama, Florida, and Texas A&M, alongside previous offers from Auburn, Georgia, Florida State, and several Big 12 schools. This recognition illustrates Utah’s growing competitiveness in attracting elite talent.

In addition to pursuing Terwilliger, Utah has already made headway this spring by securing a commitment from three-star quarterback Thaddeus Thatcher, a promising player from Arbor View High School in Nevada. With summer visits underway and a focus on landing top-tier prospects, the Utes aim to bolster their roster with these pivotal recruitment efforts, enhancing their competitive edge in upcoming seasons.
