Utah House Majority Caucus Elects New Leadership Team
SALT LAKE CITY — In a significant reshuffle, the Utah House Majority Caucus has appointed a new leadership team. During a recent closed-door meeting, Rep. Casey Snider, R-Paradise, was elected as the new Majority Leader, succeeding Jefferson Moss, who recently stepped down to lead the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity.
This change in leadership comes under the guidance of House Speaker Mike Schultz, R-Hooper, who expressed his enthusiasm about the new appointments. Snider, who previously served as the Assistant Majority Whip, will take on the responsibilities of the Majority Leader, a role crucial for steering legislative priorities within the House.
Rep. Candice Pierucci, R-Herriman, was elected as the new Majority Whip, filling the position left by Rep. Karianne Lisonbee, R-Clearfield. Additionally, the caucus introduced Rep. Bridger Bolinder, R-Grantsville, as the Assistant Majority Whip, completing the newly formed leadership trio.
"I am excited to work alongside this new leadership team as we represent our caucus and work on behalf of all Utahns," Speaker Schultz stated following the election. He congratulated Snider, Pierucci, and Bolinder, emphasizing their readiness to advocate for the interests of Utah residents.
The newly established leadership team will face a host of important issues as they navigate the legislative agenda in the upcoming sessions. Their appointments signal a commitment to collaboration and active representation for the constituents of Utah as the state continues to address various challenges and opportunities.
As the House gears up for a busy legislative calendar, all eyes will be on how this new team will influence policies and initiatives in the coming months.
