Tyler Quinn Named to Academic All-District Team

SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah baseball standout Tyler Quinn has been recognized for his exceptional performance both in athletics and academics, having been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. The announcement came on Tuesday, marking the third consecutive year that a member of the Utah baseball program has received this honor. Additionally, Quinn has been named a finalist for the CSC Academic All-America award, with winners set to be disclosed later this summer.

Majoring in applied positive psychology, Quinn boasts an impressive 3.71 cumulative GPA during his two years at Utah (2024-25). A transfer from Pacific University in Oregon, Quinn played a pivotal role for the Utes, participating in 92 games with 88 starts across multiple positions, including catcher and first baseman.

In the 2025 season, he featured prominently, playing all 50 games and achieving 47 starts. His standout performance included a .316 batting average, 17 doubles, five home runs, and 39 RBIs, making him a crucial asset to the team. Quinn ranked among the top performers in several key categories, including second in RBIs and third in both hits and doubles.

Notably, he finished the season on a 13-game hitting streak and recorded 17 multi-hit games, demonstrating his reliability under pressure with a .353 batting average with runners in scoring position. His improvement from the previous season was remarkable, as he notably raised his batting average nearly 100 points and increased his slugging percentage significantly.

Quinn’s achievements exemplify the balance of academic success and athletic prowess at the University of Utah, reinforcing the program’s commitment to excellence in both arenas.
