Utah Softball Stars Earn Academic All-District Honors
SALT LAKE CITY – The College Sports Communicators announced its annual Academic All-District selections on Tuesday, recognizing the impressive academic and athletic achievements of Utah softball players Hailee White and Jolie Mayfield.
Hailee White, who served as a team captain for the Utes in the 2025 season, made a significant impact both on the field and in the classroom. She started 51 games, contributing to Utah’s remarkable total of 36 double plays—the highest in the nation. With 110 assists, she ranked seventh in the Big 12 and registered only one error in over 90 chances during conference play. At the plate, White maintained a .280 batting average while balancing her academic pursuits, achieving a 3.83 GPA with a focus on Psychology.
Jolie Mayfield also showcased her talents in 2025, finishing fourth on the team in batting average and tying for second in triples. Her season included seven multi-hit games; notably, on March 15 against Arizona, she hit two home runs, including a grand slam. Mayfield’s academic performance is equally commendable, with a GPA of 3.85 while studying Health and Kinesiology.
The University of Utah celebrates the outstanding achievements of these student-athletes, as they continue to excel both on the field and in their academic endeavors.
