President Nelson to Dedicate Syracuse Utah Temple on June 8
Syracuse, Utah – The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that President Russell M. Nelson will dedicate the Syracuse Utah Temple on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 4 p.m. MDT. Elder Quentin L. Cook from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will accompany him during the dedicatory session, which will be broadcast to local meetinghouses and rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
Located at 1098 S. 2500 West, the new temple spans 90,526 square feet on a 12-acre site. Notably, it will feature two baptismal fonts, catering to the area’s substantial youth population. This announcement follows a successful three-week open house that ran from May 10 to May 31.
President Nelson first announced plans for the Syracuse temple during the April 2020 general conference. Groundbreaking occurred on June 12, 2021, with Elder Kevin R. Duncan overseeing the site dedication.
Utah is home to over 2.2 million Latter-day Saints and will soon host 24 dedicated temples, enhancing the spiritual landscape of the state, which currently has 23 temples in operation and several more in various stages of development.
