Orem, Utah – Live Your Dream Awards Scholarships to Empower Single Mothers
On Thursday, Live Your Dream, a nonprofit organization, awarded $37,500 in scholarships to fifteen single mothers in Utah, helping them pursue their educational aspirations. The funds were raised during a golf-themed fundraiser at the Links at Sleepy Ridge in Orem, where community members gathered to support the cause.
Founded by Katie Bunnell in 2010, Live Your Dream aims to uplift single mothers struggling to provide for their families, a mission rooted in Bunnell’s own experience following the unexpected loss of her husband in 2005. As a stay-at-home mom, she later returned to school, earning a bachelor’s degree in integrated studies. "Education changed everything for me," she said.
The semiannual scholarships provide essential support for tuition, fees, and textbooks, empowering women like Jacklyn Crandall and Jan Thomas to improve their lives and inspire their children. "It shows my kids that their mom can do difficult things," Thomas expressed.
