Langley Griffin Joins Utah Volleyball Program for 2025
SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Volleyball team is thrilled to announce the addition of former beach volleyball star Langley Griffin, who will join the squad in the fall of 2025. Griffin has spent the past two seasons excelling in Utah’s beach volleyball program and is poised to bring her competitive spirit and skills to the indoor game.
Head Coach Beth Launiere expressed her excitement about Griffin’s transfer, noting, "She is a tremendous athlete and competitor, one of the best beach players in the country. Her skill set, honed on the beach, will translate well into indoor volleyball, where her career began."
Standing at 6 feet tall, Griffin made a significant impact during her beach volleyball tenure, securing 18 wins as a freshman alongside partner Katie McAlister. Her impressive contributions helped the team achieve key milestones, including the program’s first top-20 victory against No. 19 Arizona.
In her sophomore campaign, Griffin continued to shine, amassing an impressive 35 match wins and a 23-11-1 record. Notably, she played a pivotal role in Utah’s best season ever, which culminated in a 3-0 tournament win over Arizona, advancing the Utes to the Big 12 semifinals.
Before her time at Utah, Griffin was a standout at Peninsula High School in Tacoma, Washington, where she excelled as an outside hitter and earned numerous accolades, including league MVP and all-state honors. In addition to volleyball, she also competed in track and field as a three-time letter winner.
As Griffin prepares to join the Utes as a pin attacker in 2025, expectations are high for her contributions to the team’s future success following their 19th NCAA appearance and a No. 17 national ranking last season.
