Oregon Ducks Baseball Set to Begin 2025 NCAA Tournament at Home
EUGENE, OR — The Oregon Ducks baseball team is gearing up for their 2025 NCAA tournament opener against the Utah Valley Wolverines, scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. PT at PK Park. Fans can catch the action on ESPN+, as the atmosphere is expected to be electrifying with additional bleachers installed to accommodate the crowd.
Having secured the No. 12 overall seed, Oregon will host the Eugene Regional, featuring a double-elimination format with four teams: No. 1 seed Oregon Ducks, No. 2 Arizona Wildcats, No. 3 Cal Poly Mustangs, and No. 4 Utah Valley Wolverines. This season marks Oregon’s fifth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, finishing with a robust 42-14 record, including a stellar 22-8 in Big Ten play.
Under the guidance of sixth-year coach Mark Wasikowski, the Ducks aim to break a long-standing College World Series drought, with their last appearance dating back to 1954. The team saw significant success in the regular season and had a standout lineup, earning more All-Big Ten first-team selections than any other team. Pitcher Grayson Grinsell led the staff with a 2.62 ERA, while outfielder Mason Neville powered the offense with 26 home runs. Fans are eagerly anticipating a deep run in the tournament.
