United Way’s Celebrity Scoopers Fundraising Tour Returns with a Twist
WHEELING — The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley is set to delight ice cream lovers and community supporters with the return of its cherished Celebrity Scoopers fundraiser, featuring an exciting mobile format this summer.
Local celebrities will scoop delicious ice cream across various locations in the Ohio Valley, fostering a spirit of community engagement and raising funds for vital programs that support families in need. The ice cream tour will stop at several popular venues on select dates:
- June 3: Flurry’s Ice Cream and Sweets, Moundsville (12 PM – 3 PM)
- June 5: Fun in the Ville, Barnesville (4 PM – 7 PM)
- June 13: Stalder’s Family Creamery, New Martinsville (6 PM – 8 PM)
- June 18-20: Kirke’s Homemade Ice Cream, St. Clairsville (1 PM – 4 PM)
- June 27: In front of Waterfront Hall, Wheeling (12 PM – 3 PM)
Staci Stephen, executive director of the United Way, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, "Each scoop served helps build stronger communities across the Upper Ohio Valley." She emphasized the importance of collaborating with local businesses and leaders dedicated to community welfare.
This year’s event has garnered support from key sponsors including Visit Wheeling, Edward Jones, and several local businesses. The United Way is also thankful for its Premier sponsors, which include WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and several other local organizations.
