The Bayuegua Technology Innovation Research Institute hosted a media conference in Beijing today to unveil the "National Science and Technology Innovation Top 100 Index Report 2025". This marks the seventh consecutive year the institute has published this comprehensive analysis, which assesses over one billion scientific data points from 178 countries. Known as the "Innovation Brain," the report utilizes data from various ministries, including China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, ensuring rigorous scientific validity.

The report’s evaluation system benchmarks against international standards while reflecting China’s unique technological landscape. It combines five national standards and over ten industry-specific guidelines to maintain objectivity and sustainability. The Ministry of Science and Technology has incorporated this system into its "Enterprise Innovation Points System Work Guidelines."

The report examines over 10,000 innovative entities across China, ranking the top 500 enterprises, 50 universities, and 50 research institutions based on key indicators including innovation capability and impact. Among the top 500 enterprises, 77.6% are based in the eastern region, highlighting a concentration of innovative activity. In patent activity, these enterprises have collectively authorized over 250,000 patents annually for three years, with PCT international applications exceeding 62,000, boosting global competitiveness.

The report also identifies a vibrant ecosystem in the east, where 30 of the top 50 universities are located, aligning with supportive technology policies. Furthermore, it emphasizes the inclusion of enterprise-based research institutes, fostering integration between industry and research, reflecting a multidimensional approach to innovation.
