West Valley City High School Graduate Inspires Community Amid Adversity
West Valley City, Utah (ABC4) — Sha Reh is set to graduate from Granger High School on May 28, achieving a remarkable 3.9 GPA. His high school journey, filled with cherished memories of friends and family, now takes on a deeper significance following a traumatic incident last year, where he was found alive after suffering a gunshot wound, with his family tragically deceased.
Despite losing his vision, Reh has made a remarkable recovery, attributing his strength to the unwavering support of his friends, whom he now considers family. "My friends have been with me for so long; I love them with all my heart," Reh stated.
After graduation, Reh initially planned to study family law or political science at the University of Utah, but his path has evolved. He will attend the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind to adapt to life without vision. He also aims to explore creative pursuits like playing guitar and has travel aspirations to Thailand and Australia to connect with his roots.
Focused on living in the moment, Reh emphasizes, "Time is like a leaf in the wind. You have to make the best of it." His story serves as a poignant reminder of resilience and hope for the community.
