Utah Utes Football Program Prepares for Key Summer Recruiting
The Utah football program is poised for significant developments in its recruiting efforts over the next few weeks as it welcomes several high-profile prospects to campus. Among those set to visit is Peyton Higginson from Salem Hills High School, who confirmed his attendance during the Utes’ team camp on June 10 through a post on X.
Higginson, a three-star recruit in the class of 2027 as per 247Sports, stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 180 pounds. He has made a name for himself by excelling on both sides of the ball. Last season, he recorded 24 total tackles as a safety and showcased his offensive skills with 45 receptions for 617 yards and seven touchdowns, according to MaxPreps.
Currently rated as the No. 40 athlete in the 2027 class by 247Sports, Higginson is also recognized as the sixth-ranked player from Utah. He holds seven offers, including notable interest from BYU and Utah State. This visit to Utah is not his first; he previously toured the campus during the spring practice period last month.
As the Utes’ recruiting class for 2027 begins to take shape, it currently includes a commitment from four-star recruit Thaddeus Thatcher. Additionally, Sione Tu’amoheloa-Kaho, ranked as the No. 20 quarterback prospect in the class, has already visited the program.
The upcoming weeks are critical for the Utes as they look to solidify their recruiting strategy and build a robust class for the future, with Higginson and other prominent recruits shaping the trajectory of the program.
