Utah County Officials Seek Solutions to Safety Issues at Bridal Veil Falls

Press Release: Safety Improvements Proposed for Bridal Veil Falls Amid Increased Visitor Traffic

UTAH COUNTY, Utah — Bridal Veil Falls, a picturesque destination in Utah’s outdoors, is drawing larger crowds as summer approaches. However, the influx of visitors has raised safety concerns, highlighted by two recent search and rescue operations.

"Narrow pathways and makeshift bridges are leading to congestion and conflicts between bikers and pedestrians," noted Utah County Commissioner Skyler Beltran. The county is seeking a land swap with the U.S. Forest Service to implement safety upgrades. Proposed changes include rerouting bike traffic to a separate bridge, ensuring pedestrian-only access at the falls’ base, thereby reducing congestion and enhancing safety.

Commissioner Beltran also emphasized plans to improve access to the middle of the falls, which would create a more official trail for adventurous visitors. Local resident Patricia Desio expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We definitely like hiking, so we would love to do something like that.”

While no specific timeline has been established, officials are optimistic that work could begin this summer, pending the land agreement. As the summer season beckons, these improvements aim to make Bridal Veil Falls a safer and more accessible destination for all outdoor enthusiasts.
