Press Release: New Weber-Morgan Children’s Justice Center Opens in Ogden

Ogden, UT – May 22, 2025 – A landmark achievement for child protection was celebrated today with the grand opening of the Weber-Morgan Children’s Justice Center (CJC) in Ogden. Located at 1845 Jackson Ave., the center offers a safe and nurturing environment for children affected by abuse, addressing the growing demand for dedicated support services.

The opening ceremony brought together state, community, and faith leaders, including representatives from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which played a crucial role in funding the project. “This center will facilitate healing for children by providing a place where stories can be told,” remarked Emily Belle Freeman, the Church’s Young Women General President.

Designed with children’s comfort in mind, the CJC is equipped for forensic interviews, medical examinations, and a range of support services. Utah Attorney General Derek Brown emphasized the need for a welcoming environment where children can feel secure.

The Church has a history of supporting Child Justice Centers, contributing over $300,000 to various initiatives since 2015. Scott Brenkman, executive director of the new center, expressed gratitude for this ongoing support, highlighting the importance of safeguarding the most vulnerable members of society.

The Weber-Morgan CJC marks a significant step forward in the community’s commitment to protecting children and supporting their recovery.
