Global Down Syndrome Foundation Hosts Successful AcceptAbility Gala in Washington, D.C.
Denver, May 23, 2025 – The Global Down Syndrome Foundation (GDSF) achieved a remarkable feat at its seventh annual AcceptAbility Gala, raising $450,000 to advance research and medical care for individuals with Down syndrome. The event, now recognized as Washington D.C.’s largest fundraiser for this community, showcased an inspiring evening alongside multiplatinum artist Phillip Phillips and an inclusive dance team.
GDSF honored Representatives Robert Aderholt (R-AL) and Diana DeGette (D-CO) with the prestigious Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Award. Both lawmakers renewed their commitment to championing policies that enhance the lives of people with Down syndrome. “This event underscores the necessity of continued investment in Down syndrome research,” Aderholt remarked, adding that individuals with Down syndrome remind us of the dignity of every life.
