WNBA all-stars Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley have welcomed their first child, a daughter named Jana Christine Vandersloot Quigley, born on April 8. In an exclusive interview with People magazine, the couple expressed their joy, stating, “We are over the moon to welcome our baby girl to the world. We have been dreaming of this moment for a long time, and it’s better than we could have ever imagined!”
Photos released alongside the announcement showcase the family, including their dog, gathered at the foot of a white bed, celebrating their new arrival. Vandersloot and Quigley, who married in 2018, initially met during a flight home from Slovakia after the 2012-2013 Euroleague season while both were heading to Chicago for the WNBA season with the Sky.
Allie Quigley made her WNBA debut with the Chicago Sky in 2013, playing for the team until 2022. She opted to sit out the 2023 and 2024 seasons, while Vandersloot has played for the Sky since 2011, aside from two seasons with the New York team in 2023 and 2024.
Though representatives for Vandersloot and Quigley did not provide immediate confirmation of the birth, the couple’s announcement marks a momentous new chapter in their lives as they embrace parenthood.
