Utah Football Offense Poised for Transformation in 2025 Season
In a refreshing shift from recent struggles, Utah football fans are optimistic as the Utes gear up for the 2025 season. With the addition of new offensive coordinator Jason Beck and quarterback Devon Dampier, both former New Mexico players, the upcoming season promises a more dynamic offensive approach.
Coming off two challenging seasons largely due to injuries to starting quarterback Cam Rising, the Utes are entering their second year in the Big 12 with renewed hope. Dampier, who transferred from New Mexico after a productive season with 2,768 passing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns, is set to lead the charge. Although he faced challenges like 12 interceptions and a 57.9% completion rate, Beck believes there’s ample room for growth, highlighting Dampier’s work ethic and leadership.
The running back position is expected to be anchored by Wayshawn Parker, who made a significant impact in his freshman year. He is expected to perform well behind a veteran offensive line, returning all five starters from last season. This solid foundation is crucial for both running and passing plays.
The biggest uncertainty lies within the wide receiver corps, especially after key departures, including Zacharyus Williams and Otto Tia. Incoming transfers and returners like Ryan Davis and Daidren Zipperer will need to fill the void and establish chemistry with Dampier.
Tight end depth is also a question as Landen King transferred, leaving Dallen Bentley and others to rise to the occasion.
As Utah prepares for fall camp, the emphasis remains on improvement, with all eyes on how the revamped offense harnesses its talent and addresses prior shortcomings. With expected competition in the Big 12, the Utes aim for a resurgence on offense in 2025.
