Utah Valley University Men’s Basketball Signs Braden Housley

OREM – Utah Valley University (UVU) men’s basketball head coach Todd Phillips has announced the signing of Braden Housley, a former WAC All-Freshman Team standout. Housley, a transfer guard who spent last season at Utah State, is set to bolster UVU’s roster.

“Braden is an outstanding combo guard who brings toughness and skill to our team,” Phillips stated. “His fiery competitiveness and ability to stretch the floor will be invaluable.”

Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 180 pounds, Housley started all 31 games during the 2023-24 season at Southern Utah, where he averaged 10.8 points, 3.6 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. His impressive performance earned him WAC All-Freshman honors. Housley ranked among the top players in the WAC for assists and steals, scoring in double figures 18 times, including a season-high 23 points against Utah.

A Skyridge High School alum, Housley was recognized as a second-team all-state selection during his senior year, showcasing his skills with record-setting performances in assists and steals. His transfer to UVU marks a promising new chapter for both Housley and the Wolverines as they aim for a successful season ahead.
