Utah’s Coaching Staff Elevates Recruitment Strategy with New Talent Offers
Utah’s football coaching team is ramping up its recruitment efforts this spring following the commitment of a promising quarterback recruit from the Class of 2027. Eli Woodard, a talented wide receiver from Chaparral High School in California, has recently received a scholarship offer from the Utes.
In a heartfelt announcement via social media, Woodard expressed his excitement about the offer, stating, “I am grateful to receive an offer from The University of Utah!! 🔴⚪️ #AG2G #goutes.” Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds, Woodard has quickly distinguished himself among his peers. Recently ranked as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, he is currently the No. 109 sophomore in California. His notable performance last season earned him second-team All Big West honors, highlighting his potential.
In addition to Utah, Woodard has garnered attention from other FBS schools, receiving offers from BYU, Colorado State, San Diego State, and UConn.
The Utes’ commitment list also features quarterback Thaddeus Thatcher from Arbor View High in Nevada. Recognized by 247Sports as the No. 4 quarterback in the state, Thatcher had an impressive season, throwing for over 3,271 yards and 34 touchdowns, leading his team to the Class 5A Division I championship game.
Additionally, Utah is eyeing Thatcher’s teammate, Zac Fares, a 6-foot-5 tight end with a four-star rating, further solidifying their focus on assembling a strong class for the future. As the Utes continue to build around their future signal caller, the recruitment of standout talents like Woodard is a promising development for the program.
