Utah NHL Franchise Reveals Permanent Name: Utah Mammoth

The Utah NHL franchise, formerly the Arizona Coyotes, has officially rebranded as the Utah Mammoth, following its relocation to Salt Lake City ahead of the 2024-25 season. Initially known as the Utah Hockey Club, the team has solidified its identity with a striking color palette of Rock Black, Mountain Blue, and Salt White, maintaining its look from the previous season. “Tusks Up” will serve as the team’s new rallying cry.

Team owner Ryan Smith previously engaged the community in selecting the mascot through a bracket-style competition, ultimately leading to the Mammoth’s victory over finalists such as Blizzard, Outlaws, and Wasatch. Smith emphasized the franchise’s commitment to embodying Utah’s spirit, stating, “The community chose the Utah Mammoth brand, and it stands as a symbol of who we are.”

In their inaugural season, the Mammoth finished with a record of 38-31-13, accumulating 89 points—just seven shy of a wild card playoff berth. The team has also secured the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NHL Draft, marking a promising future for the franchise and its fans.
