Utah State Athletics Achieves Academic Excellence in NCAA APR Report

LOGAN, Utah – The NCAA’s annual Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) report, released recently, highlights Utah State University’s remarkable academic performance, with nine athletic programs achieving perfect scores of 1,000 for the 2023-24 academic year.

Among these, women’s cross country, golf, softball, and women’s tennis secured perfect multi-year scores, contributing to an overall multi-year APR score of 986 for USU. Vice President and Director of Athletics Diana Sabau praised the student-athletes for their outstanding academic achievements, emphasizing the critical role of coaches and academic support staff in fostering a culture of excellence.

The nine teams recognized with NCAA Public Recognition Awards for their perfect APR scores include women’s basketball, men’s cross country, women’s cross country, golf, gymnastics, softball, men’s track & field, soccer, and women’s tennis, placing them in the top 10% of their respective sports.

Utah State averaged a commendable single-year APR of 989 across all sports, with standout performances from women’s track & field (994), volleyball (978), and men’s basketball (977), among others.
