Utah Football Boosts Roster with Key Transfers
SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Utes football team has made a significant impact in the transfer portal, securing commitments from multiple players to bolster their roster ahead of the upcoming season. Among the latest additions is running back Bryce Duke, a former standout at Old Dominion and Virginia Tech, who announced his commitment via Instagram on May 5, 2025. The 6-foot, 210-pound Duke adds much-needed depth to Utah’s running back position after contributing 519 total yards in his collegiate career.
Duke joins wide receiver Tobias Merriweather, who also signed with the Utes on the same day. Standing at 6-foot-5, Merriweather brings impressive experience from Cal and Notre Dame, adding more firepower to Utah’s receiving corps.
Further enhancements to Utah’s lineup include cornerback Jaylen Moson, who switched from Citadel and boasts three years of eligibility. His experience, including a spot on the SoCon All-Freshman Team, strengthens the defensive secondary. The Utes also welcomed transfer quarterback Nate Johnson back from Vanderbilt, alongside several other key additions that address critical positional needs.
