Utah State Softball Sets Record with Seven Mountain West Honors
LOGAN, Utah – The Mountain West Conference has announced its annual postseason softball awards, with Utah State setting a record as seven Aggies earned all-conference recognition, the most in the program’s history. Notably, three Aggies were named to the first team: junior catcher Grace Matej, junior outfielder Kya Pratt, and sophomore outfielder Tatum Silva.
Matej made a significant leap from last season, where she was a second-team selection, to securing a first-team spot this year, boasting a .406 batting average and leading in multiple offensive categories. Pratt and Silva also shone with impressive stats, including batting averages of .409 and .491, respectively.
The second team comprised senior infielders Ariel Fifita, Giselle Gonzalez, and Claudia Medina, each contributing significantly to the team’s success. Senior outfielder Olivia Marble rounded out the honors with an honorable mention.
This achievement surpasses the previous record of four all-MW honorees set in 2015 and showcases the Aggies’ robust performance throughout the season. For updates on the Utah State softball program, follow them on social media.
