USU and Cache Food Pantries Benefit from Donations by Utah Department of Agriculture and Utah Farm Bureau

Press Release: Generous Beef Donation Supports Student Nutrition at Utah State University

Logan, UT – The Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC) at Utah State University (USU) recently received a significant boost in its food supply with the donation of 1,000 pounds of ground beef from the Miracle of Agriculture Foundation. This charitable organization, linked to the Utah Farm Bureau, partnered with the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food to deliver high-quality protein to food pantries at a critical time of need. Another 1,000 pounds of beef were also provided to the Cache Community Food Pantry.

Clayton Beckstead, director of the Miracle of Agriculture Foundation, expressed the foundation’s commitment to helping communities access nutritious food. "We continue to work with partners to facilitate food provision for those in need," he said. ValJay Rigby, president of the Utah Farm Bureau Federation, highlighted the role of farmers in supporting their communities.

The need for nutritious food is especially pressing on college campuses, with 62% of USU students reporting low food security. This donation will enable SNAC to provide essential protein to nearly 1,000 students weekly, helping them avoid meal skipping and ensuring better academic performance. The Miracle of Agriculture Foundation is also making strides by donating meat to food pantries across Utah.
