Ryu Claims Victory at LPGA Event with Stunning Finish
In an exhilarating conclusion at the recent LPGA tournament, Haeran Ryu clinched her victory with a blistering final round of eight-under-par 64, finishing at a remarkable total of 26 under. The day was punctuated by a dazzling albatross from Australian golfer Kyriacou, who delivered the shot of the day on the par-5 18th hole. Her final score of 67 placed her in a tie for sixth at 16 under par, contributing to a strong showing for the Australian contingent. Fellow countrywoman Grace Kim also made a notable impression, securing ninth place with an aggregate of 15 under after rounds of 67, 70, 72, and 66.
Ryu’s victory wasn’t without tension; she entered the back nine clinging to a narrow one-shot lead over Germany’s Esther Henseleit. Although Ryu struggled with short putts at first, a turning point came with a crucial 15-foot birdie on the 11th hole, followed by an eagle on the 13th, which widened her lead. Henseleit, who had a stellar front nine but faltered on the back, finished tied for second with China’s Ruoning Yin, both posting scores of 66 and 67, respectively.
Closing the tournament, Chinese golfer Yan Liu recorded a solid 65, finishing fourth.
