Trappers Rescue Dog Among 13 Abandoned in Utah Desert
EMERY COUNTY, Utah (KUTV) — A female dog was rescued on Saturday, becoming the latest in a group of 13 canines found abandoned in the San Rafael Swell area last Wednesday. Trisha Anderson from "Trusted Trappers" reported that the dog was caught around 10 a.m. and, while initially skittish, appeared to be in good health. "She looked pretty good, actually," Anderson noted, adding that though scared, the dog quickly began to trust the rescuers, wagging her tail and allowing them to approach.
As the search continues, Anderson mentioned there may still be another dog missing, stating, "If this dog is still out there, it’s either hiding or we’re trying to determine what happened." She urged anyone with information about another dog or its potential rescue to come forward.
The dogs were initially discovered by a couple from Oregon, who provided food and water as they worked to rescue 11 of the dogs over several days. As efforts continue, the community remains hopeful for the safe recovery of all the abandoned animals.
