Aggies End Regular Season with 12-2 Defeat Against Boise State

Utah State Softball Concludes Regular Season with Loss to Boise State

BOISE, Idaho – Utah State softball (26-25, 11-11 MW) faced a disappointing end to their regular season on Saturday, falling to Boise State 12-2 in a five-inning matchup at Huber Field. The Aggies struggled with both offensive and defensive errors throughout the game.

Boise State initiated the scoring in the first inning, but the Aggies quickly fought back, led by senior outfielder Giselle Gonzalez, who hit a solo home run—her 17th of the season, setting a program record. However, Utah State’s hopes were dashed in a tumultuous third inning, where the Broncos exploded for seven runs, including three home runs, extending their lead to 9-1.

Despite a late run from the Aggies in the fifth inning, they were out-hit 13-4 and committed three errors, effectively sealing their fate. Four pitchers took the mound for Utah State, with junior Emmalyn Brinka starting the game and striking out four batters.

With the regular season behind them, Utah State now prepares for the Mountain West Softball Championships, scheduled for May 7-10 in San Diego, California. Fans can follow the Aggies on social media for updates on the tournament.
