Discover Utah’s Sports Legacy at the Hall of Fame Museum

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Located in City Creek Mall, the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Museum is a treasure trove celebrating the state’s sporting legends. Mae Miya, who works for the Foundation, has contributed her own pieces of memorabilia, including a unique photo signed by NBA stars John Stockton, Carl Malone, and Jeff Hornacek, capturing a triumphant moment.

With over 250 inductees, the museum showcases athletes from various disciplines, including Olympians, world champions, and record setters. Notable items include Gene Fullmer’s 1957 middleweight championship belt and Jimmy Shea’s skeleton sled from his 2002 Olympic gold medal win.

Tim Carr, the museum’s marketing director, highlights the engaging and well-researched exhibits that draw visitors, primarily tourists and convention-goers. “Visitors often share their experiences, encouraging others to return,” he notes.

Support from local businesses like Mountain America Credit Union, which recently made a donation, helps preserve this rich sporting history. The museum invites everyone to explore and contribute to its mission. Visit at 99 West South Temple, Suite 102, or donate online at the Utah Sports Hall of Fame website.
