Evan Bradds Joins Duke Basketball Staff
SALT LAKE CITY – The Duke Blue Devils have announced the addition of Evan Bradds as an assistant coach, marking a significant transition for the former Utah Jazz assistant. The announcement was made on social media, welcoming Bradds to the prestigious institution.
Bradds arrives in Durham after three seasons with the Utah Jazz, where he contributed to player development under head coach Will Hardy. Hardy, who brought Bradds onto the Jazz staff following his own appointment in 2022, shares a previous working relationship with Bradds from their time together with the Boston Celtics. Bradds served as a player enhancement coach after starting as a video analyst with the Celtics from 2018 to 2020.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Bradds stated, “I am honored to be joining the Duke Basketball program and want to express my immense gratitude to Coach Scheyer for this opportunity. I look forward to working alongside Coach Scheyer and the Duke team to help continue the long-standing tradition that is Duke Basketball.”
Duke head coach Jon Scheyer, who took over from legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski and led the Blue Devils to the NCAA Final Four in March, praised Bradds for his impressive basketball acumen and ability to connect with players, which he highlighted as essential to the program’s culture.
Before his career in coaching, Bradds had a standout playing career at Belmont University, where he averaged 14.9 points and 7.1 rebounds and was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year in his junior and senior years. His transition from the NBA to college basketball reflects his commitment to fostering talent and success in young athletes.
